Yesterday was the first client meeting I attended as part of Arcop. I was a little uncomfortable in my mind before it began. Mostly because I have had the habit of introducing myself as a part of Architect Hafeez Contractor's team. Which was not what I had to do now. The sides have changed. And hence the approach should too. Which is what I realised we have to we do even when we are working in the same firm. A sampler.
Team Arcop : We have to give glass elevators here. The cost will go up a little...
Team Client : Sure sure! We are all in for it. ask your director though.
Team Arcop : We have. He knows and he says it'll be a good idea.
Team Client : WHAT?! When we asked him in the last project he out rightly refused.Said that it gives a commercialised look to the project. What happened now!?!
Team Arcop : We have evolved as designers.
**followed by dignified silence**
