Beauty, somehow, always manages to elicit different responses from different women. From men it is always the same. It's perhaps the appreciative look that they give. That tells us women, how one of them is more preferred than the rest.
And yes, does being beautiful not help the women?!
It eases the whole process. The ticket queues from the govt offices to the movie theaters. If not quicker, it is more comfortable.
'Beautiful women can get away with murder' is what someone I know keeps saying.
As a conclusion after another of the many conversations that I keep having with this friend, I realised how difficult it must be for some of the girls for a few years. When they are not pretty enough and the boys are cruel. Yes, I mean the age bracket of 12-15 yrs.
Girls are getting there. From being cute to becoming pretty. But boys don't like them. Yet.
I thanked my stars then, that I was an alright looking girl even in those years. I say alright because I had my doubts all the times, despite the compliments. Either I'd be too thin or too fat. Too fair or too dark. Too curly or too straight. It could never be perfect. Even today.
An old joke goes something like this -
Q - Why is an average woman more good looking than intelligent
A - Because an average man can see better than he can think!
Well, we seem to be obsessed with beauty and beauty products.
And for good reason too. What does a girl do when a guy she really likes and finds the feeling to be reciprocated converses her like this -
Girl - I am not feeling good. I am low and irritated and snappy and I feel I am not looking good today.
Boy - Oh! That's why you didn't go to work today?!
Girl - Yeah.. You got that right, I am looking ugly today. I don't like it at all.
Boy - That's okay, sweetheart. Even you can't look beautiful all the times. It's okay to look bad sometimes. Some days you look good, some days you don't. It happens.
Umm.. did they not know there's a word called pampering?! :P
Also, am I only a pretty face? and that once when I stop looking good.. well.. *shudders*
This only teaches you, you gotta look good all times. Else there's more fish in the sea! :P
